Xbox App on PC Start Up Has Been Changed to Reflect Black Ops 6
With Microsoft now owning Activision — and in turn all of its IPs, the software giant is in some way integrating the Xbox brand in creative ways with the Call of Duty franchise. Case in point: the PC Xbox app start up now reflects Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s.
We tested it ourselves and captured the image above, which, if you’re unaware, is the background of Black Ops 6. Sure, it’s a pretty minor thing, but a cool one nonetheless. Here’s what the original image looks like as used by Treyarch for Black Ops 6.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see more of these for other gaming franchises owned by Microsoft, which encompasses a LOT given the company owns Bethesda, Blizzard, Activision and more. Another part of Microsoft’s synergy with their brands is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6 being playable on Xbox Cloud the day of release. If you’re thinking of playing Black Ops 6’s campaign and then opting out before your trial expires, Microsoft is aware of this possibility, and has since removed the $1 trial for Xbox Game Pass.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set for release this October 25, though it won’t be released in Kuwait for a number of reasons, with one of them being Saddam Hussein being portrayed as a hero. Stay tuned to our Black Ops 6 coverage and our review hitting after a week or so after launch (so we can give our fair review of multiplayer ).
