Stellar Blade 2 Releasing Before 2027, First Game an “Unequivocal Commercial Success”
Almost a year ago, we reported on how Stellar Blade 2 was mentioned by a leaked roadmap that proved to be the real deal. It seems development on it has progressed significantly, as developer Shift Up now has a timeline for when fans can expect the sequel to drop!
While no new trailer or teaser is accompanying it, this is as official as it gets when it comes to a Stellar Blade 2 announcement for now.
Stellar Blade 2 Mentioned in Latest Shift Up Financials Report
The image above comes from Shift Up’s latest financials report where it lists “Stellar Blade’s sequel as planned for release before 2027 alongside Project Witches. Understandably, no other details were shared for the in-development project, though I wouldn’t be surprised to hear more about it later this year.
Also mentioned during the quarterly report, Shift Up has called Stellar Blade an “unequivocal commercial success globally,” and how the game has built a strong global fanbase given the consistent content updates akin to live service games even if Stellar Blade is purely a single-player affair.
With Stellar Blade set to be available for PC gamers on June 11, expect the game’s sales numbers to rise, as I suspect a good number of players are picking it up to mod it. Shift Up has even said that they are expecting the PC version of Stellar Blade to outsell the PS5 game.
Stellar Blade’s PC release will see new content added in the form of a new boss, and new outfits. This will be released to PS5 game owners for free. There’s also a crossover between Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, which is a property owned by Shift Up, to be released later this year.
