Astro Bot Update 1.009 Sizzles With Rising Heat Speedrun and New Bot

As expected, Astro Bot update 1.009 is now out on PS5 and this brings the Rising Heat speedrun level free to all owners of the game. Clocking in at just 386MB, this update also brings in a new bot for players to rescue, and it should be a familiar face (bot?) to survival-horror fans.

The speedrun level, Rising Heat, will unlock the “Flaming Rescue” trophy once completed. Here’s a look at it from start to finish:

As for the bot included in this download, it’s none other than Resident Evil baddie, Albert Wesker! Here’s a look at the character in Astro Bot’s unique art style and look (via Genki):

Rising Heat is the last speedrun level announced for Astro Bot, though based on the end credits that have been updated, there seems to be more content planned for the adventure game, and it involves a character from the PS1 era. We’re hoping (and expecting) it to be free to all owners, and should include some of the characters listed in the original end credits that have yet to make an appearance in the game.
