Atlus Mysteriously Drops Persona 3 Reload Update 1.009 and It Breaks Mods
[summaraize]
Atlus has released a new update for Persona 3 Reload that players will see as version 1.009 on PS5/Xbox Series X|S, and version 1.09 on PC. The thing is, Atlus has not announced a patch or said anything about this.
On PC, it’s a hefty 4GB download, which is odd considering no new content has been added.
Persona 3 Reload Update 1.009/1.09 Baffles Players on What Changed
The players from the game’s community are scratching their heads right now on what changed. The PS4’s update history only mentions “various bug fixes” which they do in every patch (in sort: it’s placeholder text for whatever did get changed). Considering the last patch we got was six months ago that ushered in the Episode Aegis DLC, chances are this patch might somehow fix bugs connected to that or the base game.
One Steam user thinks this is to put a plug on mods, and on SteamDB, it shows quite a bit has changed in the game’s file, though in terms of file sizes, it hasn’t been altered all that much, Apparently, this person’s assumption that this update will break mods is correct!
Another PC user has said that patch has broken mods in the game, which means they — along with a lot of other Persona 3 Reload players — will be reverting to the older version of the game.
We’re on the lookout for anything that got changed, and if you spot any, leave a comment below and let us know. Hopefully, Atlus releases something tangible and if they do, we’ll add it to the article.
For now, don’t update the game if you want to continue using mods.
If you want more Atlus RPG goodness and you’ve finished Persona 3 Reload, perhaps check out Metaphor ReFantazio, as it’s another banger RPG by the developer. We even called it oone of the best games of 2024 in our review.
