Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Update 1.050 Dashes Out for PS5 Pro Support
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth update 1.050 is now available for download on PS5. This hefty download clocking in at 6.6GB is the PS5 Pro patch that Sony mentioned would be available on the consoles launch this November 7. Read on for what’s new in Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth’s latest update released this November 4.
What’s’ New in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Update 1.050
Here’s what Square Enix revealed that’s in today’s FF7: Rebirth patch download:
-
The addition of Versatility Mode, developed specifically for PS5 Pro, which combines the characteristics of the existing Performance and Graphics modes.
-
Targets 60 FPS, similar to Performance mode
-
Uses PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to optimize rendering and display a high resolution equivalent to Graphics Mode.
-
-
Utilizing the PS5 Pro’s High CPU Frequency Mode for a more stable framerate throughout the game.
-
Minor bug fixes and improvements to overall functionality and stability
That’s about it. Given how Rebirth doesn’t really have a lot of major bugs, and is quite polished even when it was released, we’re not surprised there aren’t any gameplay-specific changes made. This was something we highlighted in our review, where we also said, “What Square Enix has managed to put together here with this Remake trilogy and I cannot wait to see how they build on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for the third and final chapter in what is setting up to be one of the greatest gaming trilogies of all time.”
The latest patch released before today was pushed out in September for both PS5 and PC, and it had a few gameplay-specific bug fixes in tow.
