Fortnite New Update on January 27 Resolves Crashing Issues via Patch 4.99/1.000.210
Epic Games released a new Fortnite update on consoles on January 27, a minor patch that aims to resolve technical issues. Don’t expect new content, given we just received the Fall Guys mode last week.
Console gamers will see this as Fortnite update 4.99/1.000.210, and this mainly targets crashing and stability issues.
Alongside that, we’ve also included the known issues plaguing players from all platforms.
Fortnite’s Latest January Update Adds Stability Improvements via Patch 4.99/1.000.210
Epic Games’ announcement mentions, “We’ve released a PC patch to resolve the increased crashing players were experiencing in our latest update. We plan to release this to PlayStation and Xbox platforms tomorrow and other platforms later this week.”
While that might be anticlimactic for patches, Epic Games does confirm a few known issues plaguing various modes. which are listed from the game’s official Trello board.
GENERAL TOP ISSUES
- Nintendo Switch players encountering storage space issues
- Mantling/Hurdling is louder than intended.
- After playing Crown Jam and going to play another experience, players have mentioned that their Emote Wheel and Loadout preferences have been reset.
BATTLE ROYALE/BLITZ ROYALE/RELOAD/OG TOP ISSUES
- Some players may be unable to Reboot their Squad mates.
- Weapon audio may be very quiet or completely missing after playing a Creative match.
- [Controller] Crouch and Confirm Edit may trigger at the same time with custom controls.
- Styles for Ranked Back Bling, Umbrella or Pickaxe do not unlock when players rank up.
- “Enemy Team Wiped!” pop-up missing after eliminating a Squad.
LEGO FORTNITE TOP ISSUES
- Jukeboxes are playing random music instead of the equipped music
- No notification for unlocking Charm recipe
- Lag/hitching issues in the Storm King fight
- ‘F’ key conflict: unable to interact with objects.
- A prompt to flip a vehicle no longer appears when a vehicle is flipped.
- Isabelle won’t talk to players while interacting with the blackboard.
- The Wasp 8000 Motorcycle may float after hopping off while in motion.
- Storm King’s Weak Points and Rift Spawners are immune to damage when an enemy is around.
- Invisible collision in Phase 1 after being eliminated in Phase 2 of the Storm King fight.
- Enemies’ health bars may not appear at times.
- Stuck when exiting the Crusher.
- Players may get stuck in a cannon if its damaged or falls into water while operating it.
- Consumable buff timers can be overwritten when eating another consumable with a buff
- Bottom of HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.
- There is no indication of which direction some furniture is being placed
FORTNITE MOBILE TOP ISSUES
- Vehicle buttons missing when using old HUD layouts.
- Higher sensitivity on some iPad Pro 11″ devices.
- Fortnite may not launch on first-time installs on some Google Pixel devices.
- Controller bindings cannot be customized on Mobile.
- A “Download Now – 0 B” button might incorrectly pop up when launching Fortnite on some devices.
- Unable to send Game Channel messages in Battle Royale Solos.
SAVE THE WORLD TOP ISSUES
- Hotwire’s Overcharge Perk may not trigger lightning damage consistently.
- Some abilities can be activated repeatedly while on cooldown.
- Interact/Reload may fail when a weapon mag is not fully loaded.
- Husks are unaffected by Wall Launchers.
- Unable to purchase multiple Armory Slots at once.
- Player-built structures may not finish their build animation.
- Some Hero models may be missing head textures when inspected.
- The progress circle animation does not appear around the “Vote” button when using a controller.
ROCKET RACING TOP ISSUES
- The Weekly Quest progress tracker may not update after progress is made.
- Some Wheels may incorrectly appear with darker Default Styles or incomplete visual elements.
FORTNITE FESTIVAL TOP ISSUES
- Eliminated players may be able to continue playing in Battle Stage.
