Fortnite Update 4.42 Released This October 25

Epic Games has released Fortnite update 4.42 for update version 31.41 today. It’s expected a lot of new content will be released and new skins are becoming available too. Read on for more details.

What’s New in Fortnite Update 4.42:

No patch notes have been announced just yet, but the known issues have been outlined on the Fortnite Trello Board.

GENERAL TOP ISSUES:

In-Development

• Nintendo Switch players encountering storage space issues
• Videos in the Lobby playing with every launch on Amazon Luna.
• Players cannot close the emote wheel without selecting an emote
• Built-In Emotes do not play in Creative / UEFN Experiences.
• Splitscreen Issue when player 2 logs out.
• Jam Emotes may not function properly in Team Rumble and might not work in Battle Royale after a Team Rumble match.
• Jam Tracks do not adjust volume with Music Volume setting.

BATTLE ROYALE TOP ISSUES:

• Players may get stuck in “Toggle Walk” mode at times.

• Can’t edit structures while a DBNO (knocked) player is nearby.

• The setting ‘Lock Input Method as Mouse’ is not working correctly

LEGO FORTNITE TOP ISSUES:

• Item icons display a placeholder icon
• Cannot harvest fruit from Fruit Trees
• Certain animals do not unlock in the Codex
• Bottom of HUD can disappear after using macrobinoculars.

• Backpack may get stuck in terrain on Floating Islands or in Caves.
• Swivels might break when touched while on a moving vehicle.

In Development

• Players may get stuck in a cannon if its damaged or falls into water while operating it.
• Consumable buff timers can be overwritten when eating another consumable with a buff
• Villagers exploring with players may destroy structures while trying to harvest.
• The Swag Shot emote is not correctly translating on the Chalk Board
• There is no indication of which direction some furniture is being placed

Fixed in Live

• Player 2 cannot upgrade the LEGO Fortnite Pass reward track in split-screen mode.
• Additional heart slots may disappear on elimination with Slurp Juice and Health Charms.

ROCKET RACING TOP ISSUES:

• Locker’s Vehicles – SUV/Truck and Sports Cars sections changes to a different background color when navigating through the cosmetics options
• Vehicle appears blurry at start of race
• During matchmaking, players may not load into a match if they back out while downloading additional content, and then try to requeue.

FORTNITE FESTIVAL:

• Band members may be lacking animations.
• Degraded audio quality when using Jam Tracks as Lobby Tracks.

• Jam Stage Mixers – Players need to equip Jam Tracks before hopping into the Jam Stage to access songs and start making music.

SAVE THE WORLD TOP ISSUES:

• Class icons may not appear on the Lobby screen.
• Backpack resets the selected item category after closing.

• B.A.S.E. not visible on Trap Wheel when full of other items.
• The “Daily Wargames” Storm Shield option does not apply current Daily Wargames Challenge.

• Map camera movement may be restricted after canceling the mission queue.
• Storm King’s health bar does not appear in the final phase.
• Can’t select Shadowshard weapon evolution path with controller.
