Epic Games had a record year in 2025 in terms of revenue and user numbers, but the company reportedly believes that Fortnite is no longer performing as strongly as before.

Because of this, Epic is now looking to its new partnership with Disney to help revive the brand and give its gaming business a fresh boost.

Epic Games Eyes a Resurgence Through a New ARC Raiders-Style Shooter

According to a Bloomberg report, Epic Games is now working on what could become a major new project. After several recent setbacks, Epic seems to be preparing a kind of “resurgence” through a new extraction shooter game inspired by titles like ARC Raiders.

In this project, players would reportedly control Disney characters, fighting enemies until reaching an extraction point. Disney is said to have invested $1.5 billion into the project.

The report also notes that not everything has gone smoothly so far. According to internal feedback, “So far, internal reviewers have expressed concerns that the game mechanics are not very original, but some of the employees are optimistic that Epic will get it right by the launch date.”

The partnership between Epic and Disney is said to include two additional games already in development.

Two sources also claimed that early versions of the second game were criticized internally, and that resources originally assigned to the third project were moved to the first two after Disney reportedly raised concerns about the planned releases.

A Disney spokesperson said, “We remain focused on our long-term collaboration with Epic which continues to have strong momentum and our work to build a transformational games and entertainment universe remains unchanged.”

In addition, there have been reports suggesting that Disney may be considering a possible purchase of Epic Games and Fortnite, so this new shooter project could be seen as an early test of how far the partnership can go.

Nope nope nope this won’t end well. Disney said they’re doing this to attract a young male audience but at the same time will make sure everything is inclusive, the male characters are morons and the females all in girlboss mode. Disney is incapable of making content for any male of any age. They destroyed Star Wars and the MCU because they thought young males wanted more annoying teen girls in all their content.

Star Wars ARC Raiders—count me in! I’ve basically abandoned Battlefield 6 since ARC came out. Tried some Marathon and liked it, but it just doesn’t compare to ARC Raiders.
