Metal Gear Solid 2 and MGS3 Snake Eater Update 1.40

Konami has released Metal Gear Solid 2 and the MGS3 Snake Eater update 1.40 for the Master Collection Vol. 1 across all platforms. Read on for what’s new below in the official version 1.4.0 patch notes.

MGS2

  • Added an audio settings feature – Settings for the game volume and main menu volume can be changed prior to play. Only the game volume can be changed during play.
  • Fixed an issue where the laser pointer would not be displayed during specific cutscenes*
  • Fixed an issue where the sea lice would not be properly displayed during certain cutscenes.*
  • Fixed some other minor issues

MGS3

  • Fixes of previously known issues are marked with an asterisk. Added an audio settings feature. Settings for the game volume and main menu volume can be changed prior to play. Only the game volume can be changed during play.
  • Fixed an issue where certain face paints are displayed at a lower resolution*
  • Fixed some other minor issues

A small set of fixes as expected. Should we spot anything else new in this update, we’ll be sure to update the notes above. In some related Metal Gear Solid news, apparently, the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is set to arrive this year! At least according to PlayStation, so hopefully that remains true and we’ll have more Metal Gear goodness soon.
