Sony has released PS4 update 10.71 today worldwide. This update comes with improved system performance. Check out the PS4 August 10 patch notes below.

Update screwed up my ps4 can’t even turn it back on again
Shoot, mine forced me to update. I hope it doesn’t brick my console too. Wtf are those patch notes even?!?
To fix this problem start it up in safe mode then initialize the ps4 it will reset single player game data but if you have ps+ you can get it back to start safe mode hold down the power on button for 7 seconds or until you hear a second beep (you will need a cord to use safe mode)
Those patch notes are unsatisfactory considering you cannot play any games with online connection without the update.
That’s how most updates for things are tho? Even for games themselves

Says all of my games are corrupted since I updated my system and I have to do it on another ps4 so hopefully it doesn’t happen to that one too
I keep getting error SU-42118-6 then the controller will not connect or stay on to connect about done with ps4 going to Xbox

Can’t sign back into psn on ps4. Keeps telling me password is incorrect and I have reset it already. Can login online but my psn connnection failed.
It does not work, and you can’t tell me any different, now I can’t even binge.. STOP UPDATING with bugs….
sony broke my ps4 i started to down load the new up date when my playstation reboots there is an error message i cant use it know with out the update it was fine before they did the new 10.71 update I AM PISSED OFF AT THEM
My PS4 won’t let me update… keep getting error su- 42481-9 even after restarting .. so now can’t even use it
Ridiculous. If someone finds a way to hack into your consoles then I can understand an update to protect the users. If a bug is being messaged around and killing consoles then fix it with an update. My system runs perfectly fine and performance has been exactly the same since I bought it forever ago. Even after all these so called performance updates.
Keep getting error SU-42118-6 and my controller wouldn’t connect, now it connected but it won’t hold a charge even when plugged in with a usb cable. Tried another controller and it’s perfectly fine but the one i was using won’t do anything.
I also am getting error SU-42118-6 when I click on okay it restarts and automactically downloads the update won’t let me sign in to PSN so can’t play Elder Scrolls Online which I have spent a lot of money on I have tried to install update from safemode even tried to do it from system software update from setting same result have tried like 10 times
About an hour after installing this update my ps4 got an error (NW-31291-6, and then NW-33898-1) saying it couldn’t connect to the network, and now it won’t connect to my wifi. I have restarted the ps4 multiple times and even restored to default settings and it still won’t show my wifi in the list of networks available, I have restarted the router and turned it off for times varying from 5 seconds – 20 minutes, have tried WPS button and still nothing. I can use my phones hotspot and that appears to work fine but it’s not ideal for using data.
