Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions come out on August 17. The Switch and PS4 versions bring the two classic games (Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare) in a single package, together again for both new players and original fans to enjoy across modern platforms.
On PlayStation, Red Dead Redemption will also be available on the PS5 as well via backwards compatibility.
Red Dead Redemption follows the story of former outlaw John Marston as he journeys across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico to track down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang in a bid to save his family. Relive, or experience for the first time, the events immediately following the epic tale of honor and loyalty in Red Dead Redemption 2 as Marston hunts down his former friends and outlaws Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella, and his former gang leader, Dutch van der Linde as the era of the cowboy comes to its end.
In addition, Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Switch features newly supported languages including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.
Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will be $49.99 on the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store, with an August 17 release date. The physical version of the title will release on October 13. Both Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare are already available on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One.
This also shuts down the speculation of a remastered version of the title, as it seems like this was the announcement Rockstar Games had in store.
$50 seems like a decent price point considering the amout of content, just wish they had included the online portion.
You’re kidding right? You buy the 360 or PS3 version for about $5 – $10
