Black Ops 2 Update 1.04/1.004 Released for PlayStation on July 17
Iron Galaxy, the studio behind the PS4 and PS5 port of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, has released a client-side update to the game today, July 17.
Players will see this as Black Ops 2 update 1.04/1.004, and this clocks in at a hefty 4.7 GB download.
Needless to say, this doesn’t bring new content, but instead focuses on fixing the game’s bugs and sorting out some of the exploits.
Black Ops 2 PS4 & PS5 Versions Updated on July 17
Per Activision, today’s patch does the following:
A new update has been deployed following the recent XP progression fixes with additional improvements across both titles, including:
- Public Multiplayer matches will now prioritize PS5 hosts and no longer fall back to PS4 hosts
- Additional protections against host migration workarounds
- Controller deadzone behavior updated to align with the original PS3 versions
Note that XP exploits and issues might not be fully resolved yet, but the studio has confirmed they will implement additional fixes in the future.
Some of the other issues that seem to have been fixed include:
- Crashing issues when entering multiplayer and backing out of lobbies
- Party-up works (unverified)
- Domination and Demolition modes are back
Some of the issues that are confirmed and still not fixed are:
- Sending invites, partying-up errors
- Sniper issue (BO1)
- Still no offline bots (not a bug, but players are still waiting for this to be added back in).
- Matchmaking issues still persist
We’re hoping this isn’t the first and last patch Iron Galaxy releases, and once we get wind of anything, we’ll let our readers know.
