Black Ops 2 Update 1.10

With Activision re-releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 on PS4 and PS5 recently, we’ve seen the PlayStation versions updated a few times, with the PC and Xbox versions ignored.

That changes today, as Black Ops 2 update 1.10/1.010 has been released on PS4, PS5, but the PC version has been updated too.

This isn’t just for bug fixes, as this also adds dedicated servers support — at least on the PlayStation versions.

Black Ops 2 Adds Dedicated Servers as Part of the September 10 Update

Here’s what’s new per Activision and Iron Galaxy:

New updates are rolling out now, including:

• Dedicated Multiplayer servers for improved match stability and security
• Improved support for joining friends
• Various Custom Emblem, UI, and MP heatmap globe fixes

Note: Dedicated servers began rolling out over the past several days, and 100% of MP matches have now been migrated to dedicated servers with today’s update.

We can also confirm that the PC version has been updated today, though it seems it doesn’t slot in dedicated servers. Based on backend checks by the community, today’s update fixes any compatibility issues with newer PCs and operating systems.

No word on whether this fixes exploits on the PC version, but we wouldn’t hold our breath.

For those on the fence or have friends on the fence about whether to pick up Black Ops or Black Ops 2 on PS4 and PS5, it’s currently half off in the PlayStation Store as part of its Tokyo Game Show promotion
