Xbox Down on July 27, Preventing Players From Launching Even Single-Player Games
Following Sony’s PlayStation Network outage last week, it’s now Xbox’s turn, as the Xbox Live servers are down today, July 27, and this seems to be affecting gamers based in the US the most.
Most of the reports are from the US, with gamers in Asia seemingly unaffected.

Xbox Live Servers Down and Out on July 27, and It’s Preventing Some Single-Player Games From Launching
Multiiple gamers on social media and Reddit have mentioned how Xbox servers have been down for a few hours now, and unfortunately, Microsoft seems to be aware of some of the issues, as the official Xbox Support page states “major outages” for Account & pofile, Store & subscription, and Apps & mobile.
The official Xbox Support X account also acknowledged the outage, stating, “We are aware that some users are encountering errors when attempting to sign in, see your game library, or launch games. Our engineers are actively working to mitigate the issue.”
Players have reported issues launching single-player games such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, given these titles require an internet connection even if you don’t really need to be online. Hopefully, this is something that other developers take note of, since it doesn’t make sense to require an online connection for a single-player campaign.
