On the first day of October, the day the Complete Edition content was released for Ghost of Yotei, Sucker Punch Productions released a game update that added the QSSR feature for the title.
Now here we are, just a day later, and the studio rolled out another patch, which players will see as Ghost of Yotei update 2.006 | 2.006.000.
This is an unannounced title update, so don’t expect much from it.

So far, Sucker Punch hasn’t said anything about today’s update, which isn’t surprising.
After the QSSR update went live, there were reports of stability issues and crashing concerns. And Performance or image-quality problems after enabling QSSR, though they are not as widespread
Other issues that might have been fixed include Most Wanted progression/save-state issues, which is more important now given the new armor sets tied to it.
So far, there doesn’t seem to be any major reported issues with the QSSR update outside of those as far as we’re aware.
In case you haven’t updated the game in a while, the QSSR update is applicable to all base game owners, and here’s what it does:
Per Sony: Today, we’re excited to announce Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR): a new performance tier of AI upscaling. Born from Project Amethyst, our AI graphics collaboration with AMD, this quick new evolution of PSSR is built on two key innovations:
- A streamlined neural network architecture
- A hand-tuned implementation that maximizes performance on PS5
With these, we are bringing the benefits of AI-guided upscaling to PS5. While PSSR remains the gold standard on PS5 Pro, QSSR provides some notable improvements to both image detail and image stability on PS5.
If Sucker Punch publishes an actual changelog, we’ll update the article with the info.
