Activision Sneakily Lessens Black Ops 6 Battle Pass COD Points Rewards by 300 CP
For those that buy a Battle Pass for every new season of Call of Duty, there’s a slight difference with Black Ops 6’s Battle Pass for Season 1, and we can’t say it’s a good change.
In previous Call of Duty games, completing the Battle Pass awarded you 1400 Call of Duty Points (COD Points), which would then be enough for the player to buy next season’s Battle Pass technically “for free” with some COD Points leftover to buy cosmetics in the in-game shop. Well, that’s not the case anymore with Black Ops 6!
Activision Reduces the Black Ops 6 Battle Pass COD Points Rewards
Without any warning or announcement, Activision has reduced the total number of COD Points players can earn by completing the Battle Pass from the then-standard 1,400, to Black Ops 6’s Season 1 Battle Pass total of just 1,100. This means that completing the Battle Pass this time around will only net you enough COD Points to get the next season’s Battle Pass, and nothing else — unless you buy any currency, of course.
While this might seem like a minor deal to some, it still feels like a predatory move by the publisher in order to sell a wee bit more COD Points. I do think most people won’t even notice this change, which is why it warrants its own article.
This bad news about the Battle Pass is the latest string of bad press connected to Black Ops 6. When Season 1 launched, issues connected to perks and weapons surfaced, which took Treyarch days to fix. Not only that, but even Call of Duty 2XP tokens became an issue, as Treyarch patched out the ability of legacy Call of Duty 2XP tokens from working in Black Ops 6, after accidentally enabling it, though the studio did announce they are working on an update to enable it once more.
With how big Call of Duty is, chances are, Activision won’t care about any article that pops up about this topic. If you want to see change, vote with your wallet, and if enough people do it, someone at Activision will sit up and take notice given.
