Ark Survival Ascended Down and Experiencing Server Issues on December 24
While Christmas is a time usually spent at home and with family, it also means time off for a lot of people, and what do people do with their time off? Play games, of course.
If you’re planning on dipping your toes in the Ark Survival Ascended pool this Christmas Eve, we have some bad news for you: the game’s servers are down and experiencing issues on all platforms.
Thankfully, Studio Wildcard is aware of what’s happening and is investigating it even on holidays.
Ark Survival Ascended Official Servers Official Taken Down Temporarily on December 24
Studio Wildcard has released the following statements regarding the outage,”We’re currently seeing issues with Epic Online Services, specifically around authentication and login, which affects any games or tools that rely on Epic’s backend.”
The studio adds, “Their team has marked the EOS and account authentication components as a major outage and is actively investigating the problem.”
LiveOps Update – Official Network Temporary Shutdown
Studio Wildcard has announced that they are taking the Official Network offline, “We’re now taking the Official Network offline due to the ongoing EOS outage. This is a preventative measure to protect player progress, including characters, items, bases, and dinos, while EOS remains unstable.”
The studio will keep the Official Network offline until the Epic Games Store stabilizes.
Unfortunately, Epic has not provided a timeline for a resolution, though that’s where we come in, as once the servers are back up, we’ll let our readers know.
Ark players who wish to enjoy the Lost Colony content, you’ll have to wait a bit more before checking out the slate of new stuff included in the DLC. Base game players, Winter Wonderland 2025 is back until January 5, 2026, and this brings the following content into the game for everyone:

Starting Winter Wonderland (Single-Player/Non-Dedicated)
- From the Main Menu, select the mod tab.
- Search for Winter Wonderland in the ARK Mod list and install it. Mod ID: 927090
- After it’s installed, go back to your game setup screen and select ‘Mod Settings.’
- You will see Winter Wonderland and any other mods you’ve downloaded in ‘Available Mods.’
- Select Winter Wonderland and activate it.
Starting Winter Wonderland (Unofficial)
- If you would like to enable Winter Wonderland on your private servers, please add the mod ID to your server command-line launch arguments (-mods=modID). No other changes should be necessary to activate the event.
