Battlefield 2042: Combat Roll Confirmed Out, Strafe Sliding Input Being Added & Vaulting Explained

One of the new things added to Battlefield’s movement system in Battlefield V was the combat roll where players rolled out after a high fall (not high enough to kill you), which had its own animation. If you’re hoping that there’s an equivalent in Battlefield 2042, and thought the beta just didn’t implement it, well,  DICE has confirmed that there is no Battlefield 2042 combat roll feature, nor is it planned to be in the game at this time.

Over on a Reddit thread where it was pointed out that DICE mentioned that they were building on BFV’s movement for BF2042, DICE Gameplay Engineer Niels Stoelinga posting as @lytlb1t answered a few fan questions regarding Battlefield 2042’s vaulting differences, and loads more.
