China Rising, Battlefield 4‘s first ‘real’ expansion pack, is available December 3 to all Premium members, two weeks later for non-Premium members, and brings with it four brand new, expansive maps set in Mainland China, along with new weapons, gadgets, the dirtbike infantry vehicle, and the Air Superiority game mode. It’s also free for anyone who pre-ordered their copy of Battlefield 4.
According to an in-depth preview published by GameSpot, maps are very reminiscent of previous works like Armored Kill, End Game, and even Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s Vietnam expansion pack. Many of the maps are very open, allowing for intense land and aerial combat, while some feature lush foliage and jungles with sharp mountain peaks.
Even just by briefly scanning the thumbnails below, it’s easy to see that the setting of each map varies drastically and should prove for one of Battlefield 4’s more interesting pieces of DLC.

It appears GameSpot’s videos have been made private, respecting the China Rising embargo date of December 3. You can, at least, still have a gander at some of the screens.
