In Battlefield 6, while there will be four classes that franchise veterans should be familiar with, DICE is putting new ways to make these four familiar classes unique.

One of the changes made early on was with the Assault class, which was given a Weapon Sling as one of its gadgets. This allowed the class to carry two primary weapons, such as two assault rifles, an assault rifle and an LMG or something.

DICE is changing this up, mere days before the shooter enters early access open beta.

Battlefield 6’s Assault Class Already Getting Adjustments Because of BF Labs Feedback

The announcement was made by DICE, who explained how the Weapon Sling has been changed.

DICE notes, “Following feedback from Battlefield Labs participants, it was clear that players felt the earliest iterations of the Weapon Sling Gadget was intruding upon Class Identity with its ability to use Double Assault Rifles, or any other Signature Weapon and we agreed.”

Moving forward, Assault players will no longer have the ability to use the following as second weapons with the Weapon Sling:

  • Assault Rifles
  • LMG
  • Sniper Rifles

You can use the following as a second weapon, with the Weapon Sling:

  • Carbines
  • DMRs
  • Shotguns

This is a step in the right direction, as it doesn’t need a super-genius to know why this would have been a bad idea. Thankfully, DICE noticed it too and made changes ASAP.

We ran an article explaining the class abilities, signature weapons, and more, which should give players an idea of which class they want to start as.

Battlefield 6 will be available on October 10, but an early access open beta is kicking off next week. Read up on how to participate and the other details in case you’re interested in joining.
