Latest BF Labs Datamine Unearths “Battlefield Pro” That Lets Players Host Persistent Servers in Portal and More
[summaraize]
While nothing has been announced by Electronic Arts, assuming the new Battlefield game currently in development will feature a Battle Pass of some sort seems like a safe bet. It looks like it’ll have more than that based on the latest Battlefield Labs leak.
Files pertaining to a “Battlefield Pro” has been unearthed, and this seems like your standard premium (read: paid) Battle Pass, though there’s a lot more to it than just skins and cosmetics.
Could the New Battlefield Game Bring Back a Version of Battlefield Premium?
According to the datamine, Battlefield Pro owners/subscribers will have the following benefits:
Battlefield Pro:
- Includes Battle Pass: Get all the perks and rewards from the Battle Pass in addition to extra exclusive content
- 6 Exclusive Instant Unlocks: Instantly access these BF Pro exclusive cosmetics
- +10% Battle Pass XP
- Portal: Host a Persistent Server
- 20 Tier Skips Included: Advance faster on the Battle Pass path to race to the final reward!
- Exclusive Bonus Path: Gain access to this exclusive Bonus Path for additional exclusive content. Bonus Path will be released later this season.
- BF Pro Challenges: Access to the BF Pro Challenges vault – Unlock exclusive cosmetics from this season’s new BF Pro Challenges. Includes access to previous season(s) BF Pro challenges. Listen to the Pro Radio Station
Dataminers think this is similar to Fortnite’s Crew or Rainbow Six Siege’s R6 Membership. As you can see, it’ll offer more than just cosmetic items, with the big draw here being able to host a persistent server in Battlefield Portal (which we assume will be back given Ripple Effect’s involvement in the new Battlefield game).
Again, same with anything datamined or unofficial, treat this with a grain of salt for now. This could be something EA was planning and unsure whether to launch, or it could get a different name by the time it launches, or a different set of benefits.
Of course, you can’t think of Battlefield Pro without relating it to Battlefield Premium; EA’s paid pack was introduced in Battlefield 3. It bundled all the DLCs at a discounted price and even offered cosmetic items exclusive to those who owned it. It was like a Battle Pass before the Battle Pass was actually a thing.
Don’t expect EA to announce this anytime soon, as we still don’t even have a title for the in-development Battlefield game. Hopefully, that changes soon. For now, the various leaks and tidbits coming out of Battlefield Labs should tide us over until official info is revealed.
Would you be willing to get Battlefield Pro with the benefits listed above?
