Blizzard Entertainment “Well Positioned” to Bring World of Warcraft to Consoles

World of Warcraft console

The World of Warcraft console version has been a hot topic of discussion amongst the community for a long time. However, there was nothing concrete to go on until today. Speaking in an interview, WoW’s Vice President and Executive Producer, Holly Longdale said that the team is “well positioned” to make the console port of the popular MMO a reality.

Of course! Yeah, we talk about it all the time. I think we’re pretty well positioned, which is kind of why we talk about it. It’s a complicated question. For a console audience, the approachability is likely going to be different.

She further stated that World of Warcraft console version is not on the agenda at the moment as the teams are fully occupied with the Worldsoul Saga. However, they plan to reexamine the possibility after completing their current projects.

Right now, we’re focused on the Worldsoul Saga. But if that comes up then we’ll reexamine things but, man, we’ve got enough to deal with right now.

A console port of one of the most popular MMOs would indeed be something special. However, until an official announcement is made, it is better to keep your excitement in check. We’ll just wait and see how things unfold in the upcoming months. Stay tuned.
