Bungie and Sony Are Working on “A Number of Unannounced Projects”

Game company Bungie is apparently working alongside Sony on “a number of unannounced projects,” according to Bungie Senior Design Lead Tom Farnsworth.

The revelation was made via a tweet that showcased Farnsworth’s experience at Bungie.

Alongside the candid announcement, Farnsworth also brings up how Bungie shifted as a game studio from a company that produces boxed games to live service ones over the course of Bungie’s lifespan. For reference, Bungie used to work on games such as the Marathon series as well as the first three games of the popular Halo franchise.

These days, Bungie’s currently focused on Destiny 2, their live service looter shooter that’s gotten multiple expansions since its release back in 2017. It’s getting another expansion, Lightfall, on February 28.

Bungie hasn’t really announced anything outside of Destiny 2, but they did mention back in 2019 that they were going to introduce a new game unrelated to Destiny by 2025. It’s 2023 now, and though that date is approaching, there’s still quite a bit of time for Bungie to reveal something other than a new Destiny 2 expansion.
