Capcom to Launch “Major New Titles” by March 31, 2023

In their latest financial relations report, Capcom has pledged to launch several “major new titles” by March 31, 2023, the date which marks the end of another fiscal year. The publisher also set a record goal for sales across their titles, whilst also giving some time to explain their media plans for the live-action Resident Evil set to stream on Netflix and more.

In the fiscal report, Capcom wrote these three under their full-year business plans and strategies:

  • Forecast 10th consecutive fiscal year of increased operating income driven by further growth of Digital Contents business
  • Aim to achieve record Consumer sub-segment sales volume of 37 million units with new and catalog title sales growth.
  • Launch major new titles, including Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

As for what these new titles may be, we have a few ideas based on some of their recent announcements. The Capcom Fighting Collection is arriving this June, and so does the new Monster Hunter Rise expansion, Subreak. The publisher is also gearing up for the next-gen re-release of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7, all set to arrive later this year. In 2023, Capcom is looking to shed more details and release Exoprimal, a new action game, as well as Pragmata. Currently, Street Fighter 6 has no set release window, so at the moment we don’t know if that is also part of their multiple-title slate for the fiscal year of 2022.

In other sales-breaking news for Capcom, Devil May Cry 5 has reached a record-high five million units sold for the franchise. Read more about it here.
