Dead Space Survey Being Sent Out by EA, Asks About Dead Space 2 and 3 Remake Interest

With Motive Studio hitting gold with the recently released Dead Space remake, it might seem like remaking the franchise’s sequels would be a no-brainer move. Well, it seems parent company EA needs more convincing before they greenlit a Dead Space 2 remake, as the publisher is now seeking player feedback via a Dead Space survey being sent out.

Over on Reddit, multiple users have reported getting a Dead Space survey with two of the questions notably asking the interest level of the survey taker on a Dead Space 2 and 3 remake.

Mind, this is not a guarantee that a Dead Space 2 remake or a DS3 remake are in the cards, but I wouldn’t bet against it existing in some form in the near future — especially since Motive Studio devs themselves have expressed interest in crafting more games in the franchise.

Best to check your spam folder in your email, and if you did get one, make sure to tick “extremely interested.” Unless, of course, you don’t want a remade sequel to one of the best horror games of all time. As someone who’s played Dead Space 2, it’s easily the best of the trilogy. Now, DS3 is another matter, as it featured some changes that wasn’t really accepted by the playerbase back then.

For reference, Dead Space 2 was released back in 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, while Dead Space 3 was released in 2013 for the same platforms.

If you still haven’t played the Dead Space remake, go read our review here, where we state, “Motive has resurrected the franchise and with style! Dead Space 2023 is a fantastic way to start the year for horror fans, and is one indoctrination worth experiencing.”

Thanks, Dillon Rogers, BVelios, VoidUnity!

  1. I tried really hard to like this remake. Does it do good things? Sure. Does it do great things? Graphics, maybe. Does it do bad things? Yes! Not all the changes made from the original game are good, such as the art design, the inability to mute the protagonist without turning off all other dialogue, the misleading promises made about the game, the weak weapons not being buffed enough from the original game, the glitchy performance issues as well as sloppy design, like game objectives that are marked completable but are unable to be completed as it is behind a door only unlockable by completing more of the story.

The original gets a 9 out of 10from me, it’s not flawless but it’s a great game for it’s time. The remake gets a 7.5 out of 10, and even if it was upgraded to an 8 out of 10 by fixing issues and adding some features, I wouldn’t want a Dead Space 2 or 3 remake. I have enough impressions to know that this game falls short in many ways, and would undoubtedly fall short as well for the other main and spin-off games.

But none of that matters, if EA decides to make a game, it’s for profit, not for how bad or good it is. It’s a coin toss given that the last time Dead Space 2 and 3 were made, they both failed EA’s expectations.

    1. Whaaaat??? DS2 is the best of the bunch! DS3 is the worst one. I mean, DS2 had that eye scene thing, better weapons, etc. 😀

      1. Yaaaaaaaaaawn! 3 has co-op .Best of the bunch you say?! How about 1 straight horror. No no no 2 is the

3rd best. I do play it and love the franchise.
