Death Stranding Is Headed to PC Game Pass This August 23, Check Out the Trailer

Death Stranding Game Pass

In a surprising turn of events, Hideo Kojima’s PlayStation-exclusive, Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass on August 23. The official PC Game Pass Twitter account had been teasing Death Stranding for some time now by changing their profile picture to a still from the game this week, but has now confirmed the addition of the game to the subscription service. Watch the announcement trailer here:

How did a PlayStation Exclusive end up on Xbox’s subscription service?

This is a question on everyone’s mind, and the answer is somewhat complex. Death Stranding is owned and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. However, the PC port of the game is published by 505 Games (known for Control), and they get to decide on which services the games end up on; even including Xbox Game Pass. The PlayStation port of the game is still owned by Sony, which is why the game is coming exclusively to the PC version of Game Pass.

For reference, Death Stranding on PC was released earlier this year back in March 30 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

This was a surprising yet welcomed announcement, as now more people will get to experience Hideo Kojima’s epic. Kojima’s partnership with Xbox is getting stronger by the day, he also has an exclusive game for Xbox in the works.
