Those Guardians hoping to have fun tricking and treating in-game will be disappointed to hear that the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost event won’t be happening. Not this year, at least!
In the original Destiny, the Festival of the Lost brought trick-or-treating to the Tower, night covered Crucible maps and social spaces, and new consumable, masks and emotes could be earned. Sadly, this won’t be the case for Destiny 2.
Community Manager David “Deej” Dague confirmed this on Twitter, stating that the first event for Destiny 2 would be The Dawning.
No, Sir. We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning.

The Dawning will take place over the winter holiday period and feature various themed activities and rewards. It’s sure to be a fun time, but I’m many players will be disappointed to hear that Halloween isn’t being celebrated. (I, too, loved those masks!)
