Diablo 4 Cosmetic Items Are Ridiculously Overpriced; Horses for $15 and Necromancer Skin Set for $28

diablo 4 cosmetics

While Diablo 4 was met with praise among the reviewers, players are not so happy about the title’s microtransactions in its in-game shop and are taking to Reddit and Twitter to complain about the cosmetics and their prices. Diablo 4’s early access has given us a look at the game’s initial cosmetic items for sale and indicated what prices in the future might also be.

Reddit user Novantico took to the official Diablo subreddit and called the cosmetic prices “absolutely ridiculous,” citing prices for a single horse costing $15, while other cosmetics skins cost up to $28.

These cosmetic prices are absolutely ridiculous. Most sets are $15 – $28. Even some horses are $15

Here’s a list of all the Diablo 4 cosmetic items available to purchase with their prices:

  • Wraith Lord Skin Set (Necromancer) – 2800 Platinum coins
  • The Lion of Arreat Skin Set (Barbarian) – 2200 Platinum coins
  • The Weight of Gold Mount with Mount Armor – 1600 Platinum coins
  • Dressed to Kill Armor – 1300 Platinum coins
  • Raised by Wolves Armor – 2500 Platinum coins

Platinum coins cost roughly $1 for 100, therefore, the Necromancer skin set could cost up to $28, while the Barbarian skin set would cost approximately $22.

Another user, Uberkull, also pointed out the absurdity of the microtransactions prices. The Reddit user clarifies that they’re “okay” with cosmetics in Diablo 4, but “$28 for one set” is not okay. Other users agreed while replying to the post and said that they wouldn’t purchase the cosmetics until prices change. Players also point out that the prices are unfair as the base game also costs $70 USD, and compare it with free-to-play games such as Fortnite and Overwatch 2 having cheaper skins.

Blizzard hasn’t addressed these complaints regarding their item shop. However, Diablo Immortal was met with similar criticisms, but the company never reversed its decision as the game was reportedly continuing to make more than $1 million USD per day despite the outrage.

In other Diablo 4 news, Blizzard has provided fixes for various errors players were getting while trying to log into Diablo 4’s early access. You can find all the errors (and their fixes) below.

The notification that says it can’t verify the license for Diablo 4 means that either the servers aren’t available in your region yet or their overloaded because of to many long in attempts. Just because people purchased the dlc and got in that isn’t a guaranteed fix it’s called “a temporary makeshift solution” All you can do is wait and be patient.

Power cycling, rebuild database, reinstall etc isn’t gonna fix anything.

Diablo 4 is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2023 and it’s peak hours “you seriously didn’t expect to just log in” and be all willy-nilly
