Ever since Season 7 of Battlefield 2042 launched last month, the player base (including us) wondered whether we’re getting another one or if it’s the final season. Well, today we have the answer to that, as EA has confirmed Season 7 is the last one for the game!

In the announcement, EA mentioned that while this news might be a bad one to hear for the current player base, DICE will continue to support the game with “new in-game challenges, events, modes and maintenance,” though there won’t be any future seasons on the horizon.

This move is being made as DICE is shifting away to focus on what’s next for the franchise — one that’s bit muddier than expected given the recent departures of higher ups, and the closure of Ridgeline Games.

While the final chapter of BF2042 has been written, the ink isn’t dry yet, as DICE has promised more modes, events and the like are on the way. Case in point: we are getting a new update to deal with the visual weapon recoil issues.
