EA’s Next Shooter Likely Still On Course For October Release, TBA at E3 2014

Things have been awfully quiet on the EA front with regards to their unannounced but expected Fall 2014 shooter.

With no news, we’re still uncertain if it’s another entry in the Battlefield franchise, if it’s a completely new IP, or who is even developing it. After all, DICE’s hands seem pretty tied up with upcoming titles like Mirror’s Edge 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront.

However, news of the publisher’s upcoming fiscal year 2015 plan has confirmed that a “TBA” title is still on course for a quarter three launch.

According to a slide in EA’s Q4 FY 2014 presentation, confirmed titles for Q3 FY 2015 are NBA Live 15 (Console), Dragon Age: Inquisition, (Console, PC), and “TBA” (Console, PC).

For those who are unaware, Q3 of EA’s FY 2015 begins on October 1, 2014 and ends on December 31, 2014. So, while the listing doesn’t explicitly say ‘EA shooter’, its highly likely that EA’s next shooter will be announced shortly before or during E3 2014, and will launch in October of this year, as has traditionally been the case with the most recent EA shooters.

What do you think EA has up their sleeve?

Update

EA has confirmed during their most recent earnings conference call that their unannounced Q3 title will be unveiled at E3 2014. They’ve also confirmed it will be built on the Frostbite 3 engine and is in development at a “flagship developer”.
