GTA 5 Actor Auditioned for More Than 60 GTA 6 Roles But Didn’t Get a Single One
Although Grand Theft Auto 5 is full of fan-favorite characters like Michael, Franklin, Trevor, and Lester, Steve Haines is another character that many players still remember.
The role was played by actor Robert Bogue, who recently revealed that he also tried to join GTA 6.
Because Rockstar has brought back characters from previous GTA games in the past, many fans believed familiar faces could return in GTA 6. However, that will not be the case for Steve Haines or the actor behind him.
GTA 5 Actor Failed to Land Any of the 60+ GTA 6 Roles He Auditioned For
Bogue said he auditioned for more than 60 different roles, including both major and minor characters, but Rockstar did not cast him in any of them.
During an interview with Anderson Burak, Bogue said working on GTA 5 was a geart experience and that he wanted to be part of GTA 6. Instead, Rockstar stopped contacting him after the auditions.
He said, “I auditioned for over 60 roles—some big, some small. I didn’t care about the size of the role; I just wanted to be in the game. I didn’t get any of them, and I didn’t even get a response from any of them. Obviously, that was pretty demoralizing”
“At one point, I even wondered if they had an unofficial policy of not reusing the same actors. Because being rejected so many times, not even for a small role, didn’t make sense to me,” he added.
Bogue also admitted that he learned a few small details about GTA 6 from the audition scripts he received, but he has no intention of revealing anything.
With a project that is reportedly expected to generate billions of dollars, it is easy to understand why so many actors would want to be part of it. Even Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has admitted to being “scared” about the launch of GTA 6 because of the extremely high expectations surrounding the game
For fans of Steve Haines and Robert Bogue, however, it appears that the actor will not be returning in GTA 6 after his role in GTA 5.
In related news, Rockstar Games has confirmed that an extended look at GTA 6 will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, August 27. It will stream exclusively on Netflix for six hours before being released on YouTube at a later time within the day.
