At the RGG Studio Summit 2022, Yakuza series developer Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) showcased three different “Like a Dragon” titles. One of those is the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon titled “Like a Dragon 8.” Like a Dragon 8 is going to be the biggest Yakuza game ever, featuring the iconic turn-based combat from its predecessor.

Yakuza 8 will feature Kiryu and Ichiban as dual protagonists, where Kiryu will have his own party. Also announced at the RGG Summit is that moving forward, RGG is dropping the word “Yakuza” from all its upcoming game titles.

Its announcement follows the Like a Dragon: Ishin remake announcement we saw yesterday at the State of Play. Oddly, Like a Dragon 8 will be a cross-gen title when it launches in 2024. The game will launch for Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
