With today’s Spring Festival patch for Marvel Rivals, not only did NetEase deliver a new mode, hero adjustments, and new cosmetics, but the data also brought in code for a bunch of unannounced heroes and even the abilities.

Per your usual datamine disclaimer, none of the info below have been officially confirmed by NetEase, and as such, there is no guarantee they’ll be present in the game in the future. Having said that, the fact that code on the characters has been added with the latest patch means they are being worked on the least.

More X-Men Have. Been Datamined From Marvel Rivals’ Spring Festival Patch

Per dataminer X0X_Leak, the following characters were spotted in the game code via the Spring Festival update:

  • Gambit – Duelist
  • Rogue – Strategist
  • Jubilee – Unknown
  • Nightcrawler – Duelist
  • Beast – Unknown

Not only that, but the abilities of some of the unannounced heroes and villains from the Season 1 datamine have been uncovered too! Note that only the ability names have been spotted, with some having what seems to be placeholder names/

Professor X

  • “X-Men Collection”
  • “Potential stimulation”
  • “Mind projection”

Jia Jing

  • “Fairy Wings”
  • “Fairy Healing”

Paste Pot Pete

  • “Sticky bomb”
  • “Glue lasso”
  • “Pay attention to your feet”

Colossus

  • “Giant Punch”
  • “Steel Colossus”

Locus

  • “Unstable structure”
  • “Stable structure”
  • “Energy lock”

Beast

  • “Dexterity”
  • “Field Experiment”
  • “Intelligence analysis”

Nightcrawler

  • “Foil style”
  • “Epee Style”
  • “Phase shift”

Jubilee

  • “Fireworks”
  • “Atomic bomb”
  • “Atomic Bomb-Excitation”

Rogue

  • “Ability to draw”
  • “Ability Acquisition-Skill One”
  • “Ability Acquisition-Skill Two”
  • “Ability Acquisition-Skill Three”

Gambit

  • “Kinetic Energy Card”
  • “Energy accumulation”
  • “Node Card Array-Projection”
  • “Node Card Array-Recycling”

Given that The Thing and Human Torch’s release date hasn’t yet been revealed, don’t expect these heroes anytime soon. While some might be planned for Season 2 (most likely), that’s still a few months away. Given the X-Men characters in the game’s code, I wouldn’t be surprised if Season 2of Marvel Rivals has an X-Men theme to it.
