Microsoft Details Games With Gold Initiative

Announced back at this year’s E3’s Microsoft convention, the Games With Gold initiative, which allows Xbox Live Gold members to add selected games per month onto their gaming library, will begin this July.

At first glance, it might seem as if Microsoft is taking a page out of its rival’s book, but according to officials details on Microsoft’s official site, it’s quite different.

Though you get two free games per month, only one game is available at a time. A new selected game becomes free on the 1st and then the 16th of each month. But thankfully, once the selected games go back to their regular prices, they will still be playable and you be able to keep them no matter what.

Microsoft has gotten an early start with this initiative as Fable 3 has been made free until the 30th of this month, so act now while you still can. Additionally, there’s no official word on which title, Halo 3 or Assassin’s Creed 2, will be made available first for free. The Games With Gold initiative won’t last long as it is set to expire at the end of this year.

Which game would you guys love to see become apart of this initiative? Let us know in the comment section below!
