Just a few days ago, datamined info revealed that the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 release date was set for June 10, and it seems this is indeed the case (for some, anyway), as Infinity Ward has announced that Season 4 is launching tonight — at least for those living in the US West Coast.

According to Infinity Ward, the Modern Warfare Season 4 release date is June 10 at 11 p.m. PDT/2 a.m. EDT! This timeframe has been the usual schedule for Modern Warfare patches, as it shouldn’t bog down the PlayStation Network/Xbox Live servers.

While that in itself might be good news for Modern Warfare players, those who find their consoles’ HDD at max capacity will be disappointed to learn that the Season 4 patch will be a “large download” according to Infinity Ward’s Senior Communications Manager, Ashton Williams.

The Season 4 download is going to be large. In order to reduce the overall disc space that MW and WZ take up, we’re compressing a bunch of assets. Once installed, the S4 launch will only take up an additional 4GB on consoles for all of the new content.

Well, there is that little bit of good news there regarding the 4GB thing for consoles. I suggest cleaning up and readying some space on your PS4/Xbox One right now given the standard patches for Modern Warfare weighed in at 15GB or more usually, and I suspect that we’ll see the Season 4 download top 25GB.
