Mortal Kombat 1 is officially out now! While the game itself might be out officially, the servers aren’t running properly yet. If you’re experiencing Mortal Kombat 1 down issues this September 14, it’s not just you, but it’s intended, as this will prep the game for its Day One Update.

Here’s the announcement from NetherRealm Studios:

UPDATE: We will be issuing a day one patch for #MK1 on September 14 around 9:30AM CDT. At this time, the servers will be offline and expected to return online around 12:00PM CDT.

As you can see, the downtime isn’t that long, and should be resolved in a few hours. If anything changes regarding that, we’ll update the article. Regarding the day one update, once that’s live (and there’s tangible patch notes to be had), we’ll provide a link out to it in this article.

For those wondering why there’s no crossplay, it’s not connected to the servers at all, as NetherRealm has mentioned it won’t be available at launch, but is something the studio is working on.
