Those looking to fight against players on different platforms when Mortal Kombat 1 launches, you’re in for a disappointment, as NetherRealm Studios has confirmed Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay won’t be ready at the game’s launch. Nothing to fret about though, as the developers promise that it is being worked on and will be available to the players soon after the official release.
The announcement came via the official Twitter, where the developers shared their excitement about the start of early access, and assured the fans that Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay will be added to the game after launch.
Launch is just around the corner and we can’t wait for everyone to sink their teeth into #MK1. Regarding Kross-Play, it will not be available at launch, but know we are hard at work at implementing the feature into the game and it will be koming post launch. pic.twitter.com/M8Kvi4QkMe

The absence of crossplay at release might disappoint some, but Netherrealm Studios’ commitment to delivering this feature is reassuring. Here’s hoping that we won’t have to wait too long for crossplay to be added to the game.
Mortal Kombat 1 launches in early access tomorrow September 14, 2023, while the regular version arrives a week later on September 19, 2023.
