MSI Claw Gaming Handheld Image and Specs Leak

As teased yesterday, MSI is dipping its toes into the PC gaming handheld market. While they won’t officially announce their new handheld until CES next week, specs and images have already begun leaking online for what is called the MSI Claw.

As spotted by Video Cardz, the MSI Claw specs and images have leaked online, giving us our first look at MSI’s take on a handheld gaming device.

According to benchmarks on Geekbench, these are some of the expected specs the MSI Claw will feature.

There are some very interesting specs in there, such as the MSI Claw featuring 32GB of RAM, double what the Steam Deck and other competitors have. Assuming things are allocated in a certain way, that should help with managing the OS (Windows), while having plenty of RAM left for gaming.

However, the biggest difference is that Claw won’t rely on AMD when it comes to its CPU and graphics. Instead, it’ll be based on Intel. For comparison, the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go all use AMD, while the Nintendo Switch uses Nvidia. We can only assume Nintendo has some exclusivity rights of some sort with Nvidia, which is why we haven’t seen any other handheld maker use it. Though Intel is certainly an option, we aren’t entirely sure it’s the better one over AMD.

Of course, that’s speculation, so we’ll just have to wait to see what other specs the MSI Claw has, as well as its real-world performance. Shouldn’t be long before all is reveal, as CES 2024 begins next week,

With all these handhelds releasing i don’t see how the Nintendo Switch is selling so many units and i’d hope that the Switch successor is an actual console and not classified as a handheld.

It’s mostly because it’s Nintendo and their first party. And well, Nintendo has just always been most well known with handhelds so they already have the reputation. As great as PC handhelds are, they’re mostly for PC gamers or those wanting to get into PC gaming. And as we know, casuals will mostly flock to consoles than PC.

Well maybe because Switch is a console first , handheld second and has great games, and these are just PC emulators
