New Forspoken Cinematic Trailer Revealed With More Blood-Pumping Music

Square Enix just posted a new Forspoken cinematic trailer. This trailer is shorter than the other ones we’ve been treated to thus far, so it doesn’t showcase a whole lot.

In the trailer, we see the protagonist Frey running away from something both in real-life New York and the fantasy world of Athia. The cinematic cuts between Frey running in both worlds, before she’s cornered and decides to fight back. Forspoken’s pretty different from RPGs released thus far when it comes to music choice, and this is certainly the case with this cinematic trailer, too, with “Revolution” by Bishop Briggs playing in the background.

As one of the first big PlayStation titles launching in 2023, Forspoken’s got some pretty big shoes to fill. The game is set to release following an incredibly successful God of War Ragnarok release back in November. And with the PS5 being easier to buy than ever before, this new influx of players may expose Forspoken to a much wider audience than expected.

Currently, PS5 owners can play a demo of Forspoken via the online store. You don’t get to do a whole lot, but if you’re excited to try the game out as soon as it launches, you can familiarize yourself with the game’s unique magic-based combat system and fast movement.

Forspoken is set to release on January 24. It’ll be available on PC and PS5 on launch, with the console exclusivity deal ending on January 23, 2025.
