Despite the challenges Sony faced with the PlayStation 5 (PS5), the console appears to be more successful than ever before. Sony announced that PS5 sales have reached over 30 million units throughout its two-year lifespan.

The announcement is quite surprising given the supply issues that Sony faced since Day 1. It was also revealed that December 2022 was the PS5’s best month yet, as supply troubles plaguing the console were beginning to alleviate at the time.

Speaking of which, the PS5 may become even more available in the near future. “Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally starting from this point forward,” Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan claimed during Sony’s Consumer Electrics Show (CES) 2023 press conference.
