Overwatch 2 Shutdown and Restart Bugs Affecting Players on PC

Overwatch 2 Update 3.41

It seems Blizzard Entertainment just can’t catch a break with Overwatch 2. After multiple DDOS attacks, and server outages, there’s now a new bug affecting gamers, and that’s the Overwatch 2 shutdown bug that’s affecting PC players!

Players on PC that are in a queue for a match are seeing their PCs either shutdown or restart! And yes, Blizzard has acknowledged it’s due to the game. Over on the Blizzard forums, multiple gamers have chimed in with the Overwatch 2 shutdown and restart bugs. One of the studio’s Technical Forum Agents named “jambrix” have replied and asked for players to post their “DXDIAG” which is short for DirectX diagnostics.

Hello all,

If you’re experiencing issues with your PC shutting down when running Overwatch 2 please post your DXDIAG.

DXDIAG

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. In the Run window type dxdiag and press Enter.
  3. In the DirectX window, click Save All Information.
  4. Name the file “dxdiag” and save it to your Desktop. Open the new dxdiag file with Notepad.
  5. In the posting section hit the </> button for “Preformatted text” then paste (Ctrl+V) the DXDIAG contents. That’ll make the information much more readable.

If you are unable to post this due to the length of the DXDIAG, please feel free to use pastebin.com 29 and share the direct link with us instead. Use the </> button as well in order to share the link.

There is a tiny bit of silver lining though, Blizzard has announced that they are gifting a free Legendary skin and weapon charm to gamers as a thank you.
