Phil Spencer Announces Business Update Event for Xbox Next Week, Says They Are Listening

Amid all the rumors that surfaced regarding Microsoft’s games coming to other platforms, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has addressed it today on social media, and it seems gamers have a lot to look forward to next week.

Over on Twitter/X, Spencer announced that they are planning an Xbox business update event for next week, which we presume will be a web-based show that anyone will be able to watch.

We’re listening and we hear you. We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.

Spencer states that they are “listening” though he doesn’t make it clear what kind of chatter he was referring to. Odds are, we’ll know whether these rumors are true or not.

Our Take on Spencer’s Announcement:

Spencer wisely announced a new event to drum up hype for Xbox without revealing whether the rumors are true or not. Chances are, if an Xbox-exclusive game is hitting other platforms, it’ll be announced next week. Or there is a chance that all these rumors are put to rest. Either way, we’ll know what’s really happening behind-the-scenes. My take? I think Spencer will confirm Hi-Fi Rush is coming to other platforms, and then will tease that other Xbox games might see a release on other platforms too, but will refrain from naming these said games.

As for Spencer’s “listening” comment, it could be either he’s listening to gamers who think more gamers should be able to play Xbox games regardless of platform, OR he means that he’s listening to fanboys reacting violently that their once console exclusive game might be playable on another platform.
