Playstation Japan Teases a Potential Music Collaboration With King Gnu

PlayStation Japan might be setting up for another musical advertising collaboration in the near future. Posting on their official Twitter/X account today, the company shared a teaser featuring the classic PlayStation symbols and a crown that might hint at a connection to Japanese band King Gnu.

The tweet can be seen here:

Following the classic “PlayStation” voice and the four symbols, a sketchy crown and a date appear within the teaser: 11.23, or November 23. The crown is actually iconography associated with Japanese band King Gru. It can be seen on their official YouTube channel‘s banner and profile picture as well as across much of their other internet presence. Additionally, the band posted the same teaser shown above on their own Twitter/X account earlier today.

PlayStation Japan has done collaborations with musicians before for their advertising campaigns. Last year, they did a campaign with musician Kenshi Yonezu, tagged with their “Play Has No Limits” slogan. This is likely to be a similar thing, though it’s always possible it could be something more.
