PlayStation Showcase Airing May 24

It’s official: the PlayStation Showcase is returning after nearly two years, providing over an hour’s worth of looks and development updates on upcoming PS5 and PSVR2 titles. The Showcase will air next May 24 (next Wednesday) at 4pm ET/1pm PT/9pm BST/4am HKT on YouTube and Twitch.

Much larger in scope than the State of Play events Sony hosts every few months, the PlayStation Showcase event has not been conducted again since September 2021 when Sony provided fans with their first look at God of War Ragnarok and made multiple major game announcements. A return of the event this year has been rumored for quite some time, though the Japanese game corporation kept mum on the matter until today.

Sony promises that the show will “run a bit over an hour,” focusing on upcoming PS5 and PSVR2 games from “top studios” as well as revealing a number of new first-party and third-party titles for the platforms. With rumors afoot of a new Mortal Kombat reveal on the horizon, it’s quite likely that the next installment in the series will be revealed at the Showcase, though this is just speculation on our part.

Fans will be able to tune into the PlayStation Showcase on May 24 at the aforementioned times on YouTube and Twitch. What games and reveals are you excited to see at the Showcase? Let us know in the comments below.
