PSA: A Bunch of PS4, PS5 Games Are Mysteriously Free on PSN This October
Who doesn’t want a freebie, right? What if I told you there’s more than one free game available now on the PlayStation Network Store?
It seems a bunch of games are available now in the UK and US that are suddenly free, with no explanation by Sony. Is this a free gift announcement incoming soon? Maybe someone at Sony’s PSN HQ messed something up? Either way, we think it’s something players should redeem right now before it gets pulled.
We’ve provided links to the game on PSN as well, to make things a bit easier.
PSN Free Games for PS4, PS5 Include Mafia 3 Definitive Edition, Call of Duty: WW2 and More
It seems that currently, a bunch of games in the UK are free (thanks, DLoBrownsWobblyHead!) and we have no idea why. We aren’t asking Sony about it, either.
So far, the free games include: Mafia 3 Definitive Edition, Call of Duty: WW2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Most of the people who manage to claim them are from the UK/EU, though some people from the US did manage to claim a game or two.
Best to check it out yourself, as it seems to vary per player account. We’ve included the links which we’ve seen marked as free below.
UK/EU
If you see COD: WW2 as not free, make sure to switch from the Gold to the Standard edition.
For those in the US, try both games and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. While it doesn’t appear free for me personally, some people in the PS5 subreddit have claimed it’s free for them for some reason.
If more games are confirmed free, we’ll update the list.
Sony has the Autumn Adventures PSN promotion still live today, and expect a new sale tomorrow.
