Bluehole Wants Same Monthly Active Users as League of Legends

With the success of Bluehole’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) hitting an all-time high, the studio is aiming for the stars when it comes to how many people are playing the game. Just how high is Bluehole aiming for? Try League of Legends-levels high.

In an interview with GamesIndustry, PlayerUknown himself, Brendan Greene, was asked just how much room left does the game have left in terms of growing on PC.

Brendan Greene: Our sales curves are just going up. They’re not slowing down. I’m still waiting for that plateau, and it’s just not happening yet. When you ask about growth on PC, I just look at League of Legends. 100 million active users a month, I think, something stupid like that? If we play our cards right, maybe we can get to that level of users.

With PUBG set to hit the Xbox One soon, that could be a reality. Heck, given it just stomped on CS: GO and Dota 2, that might not even be needed.

Do you think PUBG will reach League of Legends’ monthly active users numbers? Or will the game be dead before that happens? Let us know what you think in the comments.
