Rainbow Six Extraction Easter Egg References the Megalodon

Rainbow Six Extraction Easter Egg

Ubisoft’s new game is releasing today, and even though it has not yen been a full day out someone has already managed to find a Rainbow Six Extraction Easter Egg for those gamers who enjoy these references. Spotted by a YouTuber named DANNYonPC, the Easter Egg appears to reference the mighty Megalodon, the extinct prehistoric shark that is the bane of divers and other seafaring adventurers in monster horror movies. Check out the video showing the Rainbow Six Extraction Easter Egg below.

As shown in the video, the location for the Easter Egg seems to be located in the Liberty Island waiting room. A figure sitting out in a boat in the middle of a body of water can be shot several times, after which a a rather janky animation of the Megalodon reveals itself swallowing both the boat and the figure sitting in it.

Check out our review of Rainbow Six Extraction here, where Sean wrote, “Ultimately, Rainbow Six Extraction is two conflicting games; a realistic shooter that clashes with fantastical (and dull) science fiction game and they just don’t go together. It’s clear the intention is to dole out progress slowly in hopes of players continuing to replay missions over and over to unlock more operators, maps and content. But for that to be viable the game has to be fun. And Rainbow Six Extraction just doesn’t offer anywhere close to the addictive fun (or fun at all) something like this needs to have in order to thrive. I haven’t hated a game this much in a long, long time.”
