Red Dead Redemption 2 Sales Near 43 Million Units; Series Over 65 Million Sold

Red Dead Redemption 2 Sales

Grand Theft Auto isn’t the only successful series that Take-Two Interactive boasted about sales figures today, as it has been revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 sales are closing in at nearly 43 million copies sold since its release.

As revealed during the Take-Two Interactive quarterly earning call, Red Dead Redemption 2 sales have nearly topped 43 million units since its release three and half years ago. As a whole, the Red Dead Redemption (RDR1 & RDR2) series has sold over 65 million units.

Furthermore, Red Dead Redemption 2 was also the second best-selling title in the last three years in the United States, only trailing behind Rockstar’s other title, Grand Theft Auto 5.

No further details were provided on the series future outlook, though hopefully there are some big plans in the works. For now, however, it seems the company is very focused on upcoming releases, which include the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy on mobile devices,Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Edition, as well as the Borderlands spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands that is launching next month.

Then, of course, there’s the next Grand Theft Auto game, which was announced in development last week from Rockstar Games. As for Rockstar’s biggest property, Take-Two announced that GTAV sales have now exceeded 160 million units! Regardless, we’re hoping there is more in the pipeline for Red Dead, whether that’s an expansive online update that many have been awaiting, or a new title altogether.
