Report: Crazy Taxi & Jet Set Radio Reboots Being Developed by SEGA

In a new report from Bloomberg, SEGA is reportedly rebooting Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio in an effort to chase the success set by Epic Games and Fortnite. According to the report, SEGA is looking to release Crazy Taxi first, with the reboot set to launch in the next two to three years.  Check out a rundown of the report below.

According to the report from Takashi Mochizuki, the new Crazy Taxi has already been over a year in development. A year ago, Crazy Taxi is one of two IPs named by SEGA that they want to recapitalize in terms of new games and more, in addition to Jet Set Radio. Both will reportedly make up the Super Game initiative for SEGA, which, according to the report, is an effort to develop recurring revenue sources and build online communities around its software portfolio.

However, another interesting to note according to the report is that none of these projects are set in stone; with both still in early development, a lot of things could still happen that may possibly end up cancelling these reboots. Here’s hoping that SEGA finds their way, as both are some of the most beloved franchises in the publisher’s history outside of the ever-popular Sonic series.
