Following a recent datamine of the Resident Evil 4 remake’s The Mercenaries DLC, a modder has managed to turn Ada Wong, one of the game’s prominent figures, into a playable character. The modder was able to incorporate movement, animations, and more into the game.
Here’s what the game would look like if you played as Ada Wong:
I just managed to make Ada Wong playable in Resident Evil 4 Remake, with all of her animations directly from the Mercenaries files! Walking, running, melee animations, everything is there! 😀 I just started the game so I'll have to play more to see if there are issues. pic.twitter.com/jaJv9UH8ML

Interestingly, the files from the “The Mercenaries” datamine included enough resources for the modder, Raq, to incorporate “everything” into this modded version of RE4. The tweet does mention that the modder was only able to play through the start of the game, so more playtesting may be required.
The recent datamine for The Mercenaries has given players quite a bit of information on what to expect when it arrives in less than a week. It’s set to feature time-limited challenges in various areas of RE4, and will also include alternate outfits for Leon and Ada and even a new playable character in Luis. Datamining has also revealed a possible second DLC in Separate Ways, which is a mode that was present in the original RE4 game.
Resident Evil 4 remake’s The Mercenaries DLC will arrive this April 7 as a free update for players across all platforms.
